We are a volunteer-led nonprofit organization founded to support, encourage, and honor Veterans and members of the United States Armed Forces in times of need.
Friends of the Troops was founded to support Service Members and Veterans who, for any reason, slip through the cracks of other organizations.
We help Veterans and those currently serving our country and their families by:
· Sending Cards Of Encouragement and Appreciation to Deployed Troops, Troops Serving Stateside and to Veterans, including those at VA Hospitals, Veteran Homes and Those Taking Honor Flights
· Sending Care Packages to Troops Serving Overseas
· Sending Snacks, Coffee and Other Requested Items to Military Chaplains to Help Boost Troop Morale
· Sending Snacks, Hygiene and Other Needed Supplies to VA Hospitals and Veteran Homes
· Providing Food, Diapers, Winter Coats, Clothing and Other Necessities to Veterans and Stateside Troops and Their Families Throughout the Year
· Providing Emergency Assistance to Troops, Veterans and Their Families During Times of Crisis
· Distributing Toys and Fulfilling Wish Lists of Military Children During the Holidays

Over $3.2 million worth of In-Kind Donation Items Collected & Distributed to Veterans, Active Duty Troops, Reservists, Guardsmen & Military Families
Thanks to our corporate partner Donations, we shipped or delivered 95,727 boxes of Girl Scout Cookies, 104,610 MoonPies, 2,160 bags of boca java coffee & 352,626 bottles of 5-hour energy to our Troops
Friends Of The Troops achieved a 98% Efficiency Rating in 2021 and 2022, a 97% Efficiency Rating in 2023, a 98% efficiency rating in 2024, and A 99% Efficiency rating in 2025, making us one of the highest-rated nonprofits in the country.
That means that each year, between 97-99 cents of EVERY DONATED DOLLAR goes directly to support our Troops, Veterans and Military Families!
We have been named a Top-Rated Nonprofit by Great Nonprofits for 2020, 2021, 2022, 2023, 2024 & 2025. We are a 4-Star Charity, 100%-Rated Charity per Charity Navigator (their highest rating), and we have received the Platinum Seal of Transparency by Candid (also their highest rating).
Supporting Troops Overseas
Small acts of kindness make a big difference to the American troops deployed far from home. Cards and care packages let them know how much their service and sacrifice is appreciated. This encouragement is vital when the service member has little to no family support back home.
Supporting Troops Stateside
Approximately two-thirds of our military serves stateside, either as Active-Duty at bases or posts or in the Guard or Reserve components. From sending encouraging mail and providing snacks for Chaplains to distribute to helping food-insecure service members or assisting military families going through a crisis, we strive to meet ongoing needs in the military community.
Supporting Veterans
Life in America today would not be the same without the Veterans who served to make it possible. We want them to know and feel that we are grateful for their service. Our programs include sending cards to Veterans and helping Veteran families in need, especially around the Holidays.
